So it has finally happened after 14 years of raising kids. One of my kids has finally broken a bone. Now don't get me wrong it should've happened, I mean Brian is the biological father, but I figured they had my amazing genes. I have never broken a bone. Brian on the other hand has been in a cast more times than most people spend on the toilet. This is Andrew with a big smile. He wasn't smiling on the 20 minute ride to Morton hospital. He broke his humerus, which is above his elbow. We have to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon because it could possibly be on the growth plate. Andrew was in the first half about 12 minutes into the game and he tripped on the ball and landed on his left hand and he ran off the Field holding his arm saying he broke it. I was in shock and didn't know what to do. Someone said take him to the ER and I was like "where is it?" The worst part was the drive to Morton. Andrew was in the back of our 50ft van and I could hear him crying but I couldn't do anything to comfort him.
They gave him some Motrin and that seemed to help take the edge off. By the time we had left the hospital his coach had called twice because his team was so worried. All he wanted was his best friend Garrhet. He even got teary eyed when we talked about how much his friendship meant to him. Grandma and Grandpa even came out to the hospital to help out and take Quinton if we had to stay there too long. We only had enough milk for Quinton for a soccor game not an ER visit.
The idea of staying home and playing unlimited video games was exciting to Andrew. Jenna and Katrina were a little jealous and they said they wouldn't mind breaking an arm. If it wasn't for the whole pain thing.

Soccer Tournament
Andrew and Jenna have both joined soccer this fall on the U-10 teams. Unfortunately they are on different teams so that means 4-5 games per week. I thought I was busy enough but apparently you can actually squeeze more into your schedule when you have kids than you ever could have imagined.
After being at the field for 5 plus hours we were ready to get home and get some rest. Andrew has finally found a sport where he can use all his energy. Go figure!

Ape Caves
On Saturday the 13th of September I was able to take the kids to the Ape Caves by Mt. St Helens. It is Lava Caves made by the eruption of St. Helens 1900 years ago. There are two caves to explore and we chose the lower cave which they said takes about an hour to hike the 3/4 mile. Between my friend Ashlie and I we had 6 kids so it seemed like it took alot longer. With headlamps and flashlights we made our trek down the stairs not really knowing what to expect. My friend Heidi warned we may see rodents and bats. We were lucky that they never crossed my path because I didn't bring extra Britches. (I'm a little scared of mice). It was a really fun day and I'm glad I was able to take the kids before Brian came home because it is definitely not wheelchair accessible. The kids had alot of fun exploring.

Updates on Brian
In March I started a blog so that I could update everyone easily on Brian's condition but I only got as far as picking out a template. I decided that since I already have that blog on my account I might as well use it. As much as I love my husband I didn't want our family blog to be focused on him. If your interested in finding out any info on Brian you can check out the other blog. I am trying to start from the beginning and post pics of his process, so be patient with me as I scour through info and try to make it accurate. Just press on the about me and it will take you to my profile and you'll see the Brian Conrad updates. Or just go to http://brianconrad.blogspot.com/ to see the page about Brian.
Cabo Really Is Hot!
So as most of you know we went to Cabo in August. It is a family trip that has been planned and payed for since January and a much needed vacation.
We were all so excited to be able to spend time with the rest of our family. We spent lots of time at the beach playing in the waves and collecting sand treasures. Lots of time playing in the pool. and lots of time eating all the good food. I loved not having to clean up after the kids.
We even took some trips into town to buy lots of great stuff. Every night the hotel provided a dinner show that the kids loved watching.
The hotel even had a free arcade. It was kinda hard to pull Andrew away from that, I mean where else can you play free video games.
We really enjoyed being able to spend time with our family and the kids love playing with their cousins. I wish we could do this every year but the Bank of Mom and Dad said NO.

It's Fair time again!
Well after lots of time being in Portland and Seattle and missing out on good ole family time, I decided to take the kids to the fair with their Grandma Gay.
I forgot how whiny kids can be when it's hot and you make them walk from ride to ride.
After eating about 4 elephant ears, rock climbing, pony rides and going on about 50 rides they actually seemed to display signs of being tired.
