Brianna's First Date :)

So the day has finally came that Brianna was able to go on her very first date.... Here she is with her two best friends Lakota and Shianne and her date Kyle. A Prom date would not be the same without a trip to Wal-Mart.

She was very excited to have a date to prom.

camporee

This year the Scout organization put on a Camporee at the fairgrounds. There was a Friday night campout and events all day to keep the boys busy and a nice campfire ceremony to end the day on Saturday. I loaded all the pictures in the wrong order but you get the idea. Notice the fire is in a plastic swimming pool filled with sand. Yes, It did melt the plastic:)
Andrew getting his dinner ready. They gave the boys a plastic bag withtin foil, a hamburger patty, carrot, potato, and onion. Andrew rolled his patty out to flatten it with his carrot and then proceded to eat the carrot that rolled all over the raw meat!

Here are our killer scouts at the tomahawk throw.

Andrew was pretty proud to hit the wood with the tomahawk.

Andrew with his best friend Garrhet with the rockets they made.

Their troop flag.
They cut those wood blocks and then branded them.
The flapjack flip was alot of fun for the whole family.

There was even a donkey Quinton got to pet.

Jenna did pretty good climbing on the rock wall.

The rope climb was pretty fun too.

Andrew branding the spoon he made.

Andrew made that spoon and a pop can stove.

This was their tent that the wind blew over and the water soaked.

The boys had a great time and were worn out by the time we got home.

Ape Caves Rain?

I wanted to do something with the kids this spring break so I thought going to the Ape caves would be a great idea...... well if you don't mind being soaked then I guess it was. We arrived to about 46 degree temperatures. the caves felt about the same. I was a little shocked that the water could make it's way through the lava and drench us about the same as being outside standing in the rain.
We did the 3/4 mile trail which was probably the better choice due to the weather. If you have never been inside a cave than you cannot really prepare yourself for the absolute darkness that encompasses you. You realize how much light the moon and stars actually give when you get past a certain point in the cave where light does not flow in. Andrew and Jenna enjoyed being explorers!

We finally made it to the top to be greeted by SNOW!!! We had a great time considering we were all wet, tired and cold.

Blue & Gold

This years Blue & Gold dinner was a huge success thanks to everyone who pitched in to help. Our awesome cake thanks to Ashley Ricks.
The boys not only made their own instruments at the den meetings but they performed for everyone playing "Old McDonald had a Band".

Left to right; Payton on maracas, Jordon on guitar, Kyler on bongo, Austin on drums and Drake on jars. The boys did a great job.

They all received lots of awards and patches.

Austin was my denner for the night.

This is the crew that makes it all happen. Back row left to right; Toby, Susie, Debbie & Heidi
Front row; Payton, Jordon, Kyler, Austin & Drake
