Cabela's

Have you ever planned a day for your kids that you thought would be fun and they whine and complain about it every step of the way? If you answered yes then you must be a parent.

Brian and I went to Cabela's a few months ago on a date and I kept thinking " this place is so cool, I want to bring the kids." So off we went to have fun filled family day. They argued the entire way up there, which is like 40 minutes. As soon as we step out they all complain about being hungry. Katrina said she was bored as soon as she saw the exterior of the place. So after shutting them up with kettle corn we headed inside.
As you can see from the look on Katrinas face she was not very happy about being there. She was appalled at the taxidermied animals that covered the place. I know shes an animal lover but I figured she could at least enjoy the beauty of all the different animals. But I was wrong.Andrew thought the Wolverine and the Giant Polar Bear were pretty cool.

Brianna liked the Sea Lion.

They did like the shooting gallery. Jenna was timid about trying it at first. She told me to shoot it for her, but I made her do it herself. She loved it once she gave it a try. After we looked at a few things we headed down to the General store where Brian let them each get two pieces of fudge. We'll see if they can sleep after all that sugar.

We didn't spend as much time there as we would have liked. From now on The kids will be staying home when we go to Cabela's. (As a side note, Katrina can't sleep tonight because the giant Polar Bear is chasing her in her thoughts). This should be a fun night.

`Thanksgiving at the Conrads`

This was by far the easiest Thanksgiving for me. I only had to cook the Turkey,Ham and make stuffing. Ashley and my Mom did the rest. Things are pretty low key around here anyways. The kids ate lots of food before they all disappeared into the rec room for a good ole fashion game of school. Brianna was the teacher with Katrina as the assistant. They printed off homework and hung charts on the wall. They never seem to excited about going to real school and they sure don't like doing their homework, but I guess when you play pretend school it is just funner. Ashley and I took the "quiet time" to take a nap so we would be all ready for Black Friday. Yes that is right we are one of those crazy women who are braving the cold weather to get some good deals.(will update tomorrow on our adventure) Our friends Wes and Kellie came over after work to hang out with us until exhaustion hit. My parents only stopped by after their dinner at Sizzler. Apparently we are too loud for the older crowd. They took Quinton home since Brian cant watch him while I'm out having fun.
Yes, I'm aware I dont having any nice serving dishes and utensils. They would make a great Christmas gift. hint hint

Quinton loved the olives.

Ashley and Kyle. They are awesome friends.

A day in the life of a One year old!

Quinton is your typical one year old except for the fact that he doesn't like to play with toys. So what exactly does a one year old do instead of playing with toys....
He likes to find soda bottles and cans just sitting around and lick them clean.

He is awesome at pulling all the bathroom tissue off the roll. That seems to be his favorite activity. He was kind enough to try putting it back on the roll.
He loves putting the kids hamper on his head and running down the hall. Its even funner with company. Its like a free amusement ride when they spin him around the front room in the laundry basket.
He is even getting to be quite the craftsman. I have to make sure the hammers are put away. He likes to hit people on the head when their watching movies.

He likes to sneak into the kids room and and steal their halloween candy. Note lollipop in hand.
When he's not hiding in his box he is...
Digging in my purse. Ahh one year olds are fun!

Quintons new playhouse!

A few weeks ago another box showed up with stuff from the VA for Brian. Brian Horton thought it would make a good playhouse for Quinty. This "box" has been fun for kids of all ages. Even Andrew who is 10 squishes himself into that box. Im not sure how but 2 kids have managed to get in there together.Brian cut holes in the side so it wasnt so dark and they are a perfect size for his blocks that Grandpa made to fit through.Brian had a fun time playing with Quinton too!

Shoes on the wrong feet!

I'm a bit of a dork. I can admit that but when I headed for the gym today it was oh so clear. This was my first day in along time going to work out, and I told Brianna she was coming too for P.E. credit. I threw some of my old gym shoes on the floor for her and I grabbed my gym shoes. As we drove to the gym she pointed out that she had to wear another pair because the pair I left were two different shoes. Just then it clicked why my feet felt different. I was wearing the match to the two shoes left at home. I thought what kind of idiot goes in public with two diferent tennis shoes. Well apparentlty only me. I guess I have enough self esteem that I really don't care if I look like a total retard in public. My kids don't know how lucky they are.

Temple Trip!

I know what your thinking- 3 posts in one day-she must have no life. It's true. I don't. Today was ward Temple day and the Bishopric goes to the Temple every month and since Brian somehow got roped into being the executive secretary again we were able to go with them. We rode up to the Seattle Temple with Bishop, Jill, Doug and Clarissa, so you know we had a good time. I think Bishop has learned to ignore my sense of humor. Hopefully he couldn't hear too much of us girls, we were in the back of the handicap van so it's hard to hear real well. Bishop Lambert, Jill with Brian and I.
Doug and Clarissa Gifford with us. We learned that if you want a good laugh give Bishop the camera. He was moving around like the paparazzi taking our pictures.

It is much easier to get in and out of our van with the ramp than climbing over the front seats.

We had a bit of a photo shoot in the van.

We ended the day by eating lunch at the Mongolian Grill.

Grandparents lunch.

This week has been a busy one around the Conrad house. Friday was Grandparents lunch at school and since their Grandma Gay is in town for two weeks she was able to have lunch at school with the kids for the first time. They served a thanksgiving themed meal and even had minature pumpkin pies.

Seafood Buffet

On Friday night we took my parents to the seafood buffet at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester as a thank you for all the things they have done to help us out these last few months. It was supposed to be just adults but after much whining(from the kids) we ended up taking all the kids. Andrew wasn't gonna let us eat at a buffet without him, let alone a buffet with crab. Grandma Gay is in town so she was able to come with us too.The food was awesome and the kids hit the dessert table first. They had a chocolate fountain, I mean seriously what kid would want to eat their main dish before dipping marshmallows in a fountain flowing with chocolate. It was like something Willie Wonka thought up. They had a awesome selection of sea food and I ate crab like their was no tomorrow. We had a great dinner and the kids ate and ate and ate.Quinton loved having as much food as he wanted. Pork fried rice was his favorite. The fountain of chocolate. Every kids dream.Andrew loves crab almost as much as me. He has even cried at restaurants because they don't serve it.
